There were 8 in our party, which is sometimes a challenge, but there was no one else in there so we were seated immediately. There was one person working, and one person busing tables and such. The food is cooked around the corner so one person running food for 8 people was just not good. We started with drinks and tried some of their micro brews. We were served free soup, and it was very salty. It too an REALLY long time for appetizers, most of which were caprese salads. I had the flank steak, after all, it was a steak place, and it was delivered 15 minutes after everyone else's dinners. While were were there, a table of 4 was seated, and few people stopped in to the bar and we were forgotten. We only had that first round of drinks because he never came back. It was our most expensive meal that week... with only 1 drink each! The server was also the manager, as we were told, and when he gave us the check he asked us to confirm that his service was good... awkward. With all of the other choices, I doubt that we'd go back.
We stopped early in our week on the island and ended up going back twice more. The staff was so friendly and after we had their chips and 4 different salsas we had to order an appetizer. The Caprese was so delicious we knew we had to come back for dinner. Everything we had was fantastic. Fresh pasta with chicken and a cream sauce was so wonderful and the chicken dish was delicious as well. I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. Oh and the beers were delicious as well. This place is just off Hidalgo but that makes it even better. Less busy and no pressure like when you walk on Hidalgo. It's so worth it!
This is a new restaurant on Isla and if you're thinking about trying it GO! My husband and our two friends visited Steak and Kegs this evening for dinner and we were blown out of the water! We've been on Isla Mujeres for a little over a week and all felt like this may have been our best meal of the trip. We shared the fried calamari which was very tender and the steak fondue amazing flavor. My husband had the filet mignon that was wonderful, juicy, and tender for a fantastic price. I enjoyed the home made pasta with shrimp alfredo the sauce was fantastic and they didn't skimp on the shrimp. Our friends had the coconut shrimp and steak tacos. The craft beer is from a brewery in Cancun and you can do a flight of four or eight, or a beer cocktail! I can't recommend this place enough and hope they do well!
Great place. We went for the Patito Brewery beer which was really good but the BBQ chicken was great and very affordable. Staff was awsome and the AC was cranking cold air. Jose the manager was very inviting and a great guy.
Second tome back to Isla Mujeres and found this little gem that wasn't here last time. They just opened a month ago and the food is incredible! One of the best we've had on the island! They do everything well here from fresh pasta homemade pizzas to traditional Argentinian cuisine, sausages, and craft beers. The atmosphere is relaxed and cool. Great vibe. Unlike some of the restaurants on the strip that can be very pushy and demand your attention and patronage. We ducked into this place to get out of a rain storm and was so pleasantly surprised we have now found the culinary jewel of Isla Mujeres! Try the coconut shrimp, the brautwurst and the homemade raviolis!
