Looking for a good seafood restaurant and thought I'd try this one. I was underwhelmed with the food but found the restaurant was cute:twinkling lights overhead with hanging greenery. I had the fish and chips. Fish was fine but the chips were horrible. Described as homemade the chips were cold unsalted overcooked potato chips. These were also served with the shrimp tacos. The flour tortilla became very soggy and the shrimp pieces were cut too small. Other than than they were fine. We were very excited to try the French onion chicken but found it chewy and the fried onions on top to be very greasy. The chicken was better when reheated. The mashed potatoes were real, not instant. The service was fine and the server was friendly. They have a parking lot in the back with a ramp so handicap accessible. Near water but no good water views (see photo). Has outdoor seating and a party room as well. I'm still looking for a good seafood restaurant.
In short, this restaurant is amazing. The Lobster Roll is the best I've ever had. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I was very excited to have found another EGP because we love EGP Gastropub. This one is nestled in beautiful Island Park by the water and has a nice atmosphere. The servive was friendly, warm and fast and the drinks were delicious. We ordered apps to start. The oysters were good, but we did miss the mignonette to go with, this only came with cocktail sauce, hot sauce and lemon. Then we ordered the philly cheesesteak egg rolls, which we were so excited about. This is the only app on the menu without a description. It was ground beef without onions. They were cut in half and placed upside down on a weird BBQ sauce and i'm going to venture to say a fondue cheese sauce. Such weird texture and flavor combos. I would not have ordered it had I known. I would definitely rename this a BBQ cheeseburger egg roll. I ordered the lobster roll, which came with too well-done homemade chips, which definitely had been sitting. They were not hot. The roll was buttery and toasted well. Unfortunately, the lobster was very dry. There is a well-known lobster place right across the street, so I would think they would pay closer attention to how the lobster is sent out to guests. My husband had the Angry Shrimp with capellini. This was pretty mid. The shrimp were done nicely but it lacked the kick that the title is referring to. Calabrian chili is very spicy, this was not. There was live music outside and the doors were open because it was a nice night out, but the bar had the music inside playing really loudly. Dinner was not as relaxing as it should have been. In fairness to the live musician, the music should have been turned off. All in all it was a meh experience and I don't think we'll be back.
I absolutely adore this restaurant. I often visit just to indulge in their delicious buffa-que wings, which are some of the best I've ever had. I also had the pleasure of trying the fried fish sandwich, which was unbelievably good. I loved it so much that I even made myself a similar sandwich at home the next day because I wanted to savor those flavors again. Their sweet potato fries are also amazing, I can't get enough of them. My only complaints are that the menu had changed suddenly and my go-to choice of mac and cheese was no longer available. However, I was able to find something else just as tasty. The staff was attentive and provided fantastic service, but one of the waiters was a bit too attentive, hovering around our table while we were eating and making us feel a little rushed. Overall, I love this place and will definitely be returning many times in the future. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
