Whether it be the the quality of the food, or the really good value, or the jovial quality of a happy man running his own cafe. In 70 miles of walking it is the only one we have had lunch at, then returned for afternoon tea, then had lunch again the next day. We enjoyed the quality (homemade quiche sausage roll trice , the value, and especially the welcome. And I appreciate Staffordshire crockery. It is not actually on the Coastal Path, or even by the sea front. It is maybe 10 minutes away, with an interesting walk up the high street. But it is so worth seeking out. While we were there we got the impression it was well patronised by locals, which should be a recommendation in itself. I have just been telling 2 other families, coming to Anglesey how to find it. On a practical point, dogs are welcome in the garden. So obviously not when it is raining, but also after inclement weather when it is still unacceptable under foot (paw ? We expect to call when we do the next bit of the Coastal Path.
Sadly the quality of the home made food was not really very good at all. Maybe we arrived on a bad day who knows but it's not somewhere that I would go back to
Friendly family run cafe. Worth going just for the ploughman’s. Enjoy returning here and great for lunch or refreshment stop with reasonable prices. Well done.
Whilst eating our food which was fine, the couple next to us aloud their dog to sit at the table and lick their dinner plates. The dog owners then proceeded to smoke a vape whilst there were no smoking signs. Cafe owners should make it clear about dogs licking customers plates and smoking. Spoilt our lunch
Looking forward to trying the welsh delicacies but having found an outside table we were told in no uncertain terms it was reserved and there was no room and we should have booked. We saw 2 small metal tables that I am sure could have been put together but by that time the lack of interest rather put us off. Thankfully the spa shop had picnic stuff which we ate in the pretty riverside park near a river which contained tiny trout. On the way back about 75 min later we noticed the oiutside terrace of the cafe was empty.
