We called into The Ring today for a quick Sunday lunch and were completely blown away by how good the food was! The pub itself was clean, warm and quiet... with a roaring fireplace and lovely bar staff, it was a really comfortable place to...sit and eat. We ordered starters; the smoked salmon and beetroot, pigs in blankets and bacon, brie and blackpudding stack. All were really delicious with the pigs in blankets being our favourite. We then ordered mains; roast beef dinners and turkey burger. The burger came with beer battered sprouts (because it was the Christmas menu) and these were incredible... I'd order them again as a side dish next time. The roast beef dinners again were delicious... could not fault them at all. We only had time for a really quick meal which was a shame because the local IPA and Gins that were recommended were lovely. We are staying local for the week though, so we will be visiting again before we go home. Like I said the food exceeded our expectations by a long way and I've already recommend The Ring to friends who are in the area next week.
When we booked website said pub was open and that they served good food. When we arrived we were told the pub would be closed Mon and Tues (the nights we were booked in) for staff holidays. We were very disappointed by this. But we...had booked and paid and decided to go with it. Later when using the toilets after reading the reviews and notices, we realised how bad the facilities actually were. None of the toilet doors lock, the locks are non existent on one door and broken on the other, and the main door key didn't work on the inside. My husband had to mend the cubicle lock before he could use the toilet, which he did in two minutes, one wonders why the landlord could not have done this himself. An odd coloured sink hanging off the wall held up by the water pipes, there was no working light in the shower, and the cubicle partitions were ply board which was not sanded where it was cut and cannot be cleaned, which is even more important in these covid days. Did the caravan club actually come to see this before giving its approval.
Fabulous pub with an amazing friendly landlady Claire. Stayed Sunday til Wednesday on the lovely caravan site enjoyed this little hidden gem of a place. Extremely dog friendly Lovely quaint lanes passing through scenic villages many stunning views Only mins from Anglesey...racing track, which is a must if you have a love of performance cars. Another must is a trip out to Trearddur bay a lovely bay with a dog friendly beach if you have a love for seafood then the sea shanty restaurant at the bay is exceptional. However if you just want to relax, then you won’t find many a more friendly pub than the fabulous ring with great beers, great food many a smile.
Four of us visited last Sunday for lunch and we thoroughly ejoyed it. The staff were friendly and helpful. As well as Sunday lunch other options were available. We however all choose the Sunday lunch which included beef and turkey with a homemade yorkshire. The...helpings were genorous as well as good quality products. The pate to start was tasty with a nice salad and chutney as wellas the whitebait. Dessert did not let us doen either. We will all definately visit again .
