Overall the visit was very disappointing. The homemade Hummus was totally bland and had the taste and texture of unseasoned lukewarm mashed potato. The toasted teacake arrived on a hot slab of slate with the result that the pat of butter was reduced to a pool of oil. It was not cheap and the room lacked any sort of atmosphere and we could have been eating in a work's canteen except the food would have been superior. The one and only redeeming feature was the view from the window but even that was not worth the visit.
Had a tea cake and cup of tea. Very helpful friendly staff. Beautiful view. Lovely coastal walks or sit and take in the views.
We stayed just up the road from the Dandelion cafe which is part of the Hotel. Ordered 2 full English and one Vegetarian. Everything about it was perfect. The Pot of tea had tea leaves and it too was 5 star. The cups were huge so your really got your pennies worth. Very impressed.
We arrived at Freshwater Bay at 2pm looking for food. Albion Hotel did not serve any and cafe on the front was closed. However just off the costal path was this restaurant which closed at 3. Soup was very welcome even if a bit jelly like.
