New Holmwood - Isle of Wight

I recently stayed at a hotel with a chain restaurant under the BW brand, and I have to say it was the best dining experience I've had in 30 years of work travel. The food was cooked to order and the menu exceeded my expectations for a chain restaurant. I will definitely be returning for both work and leisure trips in the future.

David, Julian, and their team were extremely professional and accommodating. They made our wedding day stress-free and perfect. The food was excellent, the rooms were spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. James, our main waiter for breakfast and the weekend, was also very professional and went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome.

We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. Despite the lovely position overlooking the Solent, we were surprised to find that we were the only table eating at the time. One more table came in later, but for Cowes in August, we expected the place to be much busier. We were dining with a friend who had never been to this restaurant before. We ordered drinks, but our guest's Gin and Tonic was served with nearly melted ice and no slice of lemon. The meal itself was disappointing, with our friend's Scampi lacking any taste and my lamb burger with feta being hard and not well-cooked. Overall, the food reminded us of a school dinner. The experience was not worth the price, as we paid just under £26 per person.
