My visit to this new tapas bar in Islington was unexpectedly filled with more than just food. A friend and I were surprised to hear music coming from the restaurant when we arrived on a Saturday evening. Intrigued, we decided to check it out and found ourselves in a lively bar with a dance floor, where people were dancing to popular South American and Spanish tunes. The drinks were fairly priced for London, with a double vodka tonic costing around £6. Overall, I was impressed by the lively and entertaining atmosphere of this restaurant-turned-nightclub, and would definitely recommend stopping by here during a night out on Upper Street.
The sign outside advertising their paella is misleading. I tried several tapas that were good, but the paella was disappointing. The portion for two people was small and the dish itself was mediocre. It should have had more seafood, but instead it had too many cloves and mussels which were off-putting. The atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely and casual with wooden rustic tables and menu specials on chalkboards. The service is excellent, but despite its prime location in Angel, the restaurant falls short.
