Espelette pepper is omnipresent and adds nothing to the dishes. We are in Périgord and not in Lignac! We're still looking for monbazillac jelly with foie gras. Good and light gazpacho. Check the note carefully to avoid surprises. Of course, like all these restaurateurs who do not have 5 , this restaurant will try to justify itself. But in vain. They left me with a bad image of their establishment. Maybe you'll have better luck
Our first in this hostel with 3 guests. Excellent welcome by a lady for whom it is the first day. Then comes a very young woman who takes our order. Unfortunately she hasn't learned to smile, yet it's so much more pleasant. We order 2 vegetarian risottos and a piece of beef. The piece of beef is excellent, the accompaniment too, potatoes and zucchini. But the risotto has little taste, reminiscent of rice pudding warmed with cream. We then order desserts, a frozen parfait and a Breton cake-style biscuit with lemon ice cream. The 2 desserts, on delivery, are very cold. The biscuit, certainly not of the day, has a very pronounced taste of yeast and is simply not good, nothing like a Breton cake after all! The coffees that we take, too, are not very tasty. In short, it's a very nice place, but the building does not make the restaurant which is not up to standard, both for its cuisine and for its welcome. You see for us, the reception is as important as the kitchen, there and well, nothing. If the welcome had been friendly and smiling, we would probably have been satisfied all the same. Smile.
Lovely restaurant and bar, secluded just by entrance to the old town. Atmosphere: 5
We were very disappointed The melon was hard and bland so not ripe Fish just cooked in court broth like at home And the Breton puck dessert with lemon ice cream, impossible to eat the ice cream because it was so cold (I had to ask my husband to cut it with a knife! The young lady serving was very smiling In addition, we arrived at 7 p.m. and at 9 p.m. we did not have our desserts The restaurant was not full We preferred to have coffee at home to avoid one last disaster Very expensive value for money! What a shame in such a magnificent place!
