West Town Cafe - Istanbul

We really loved the place! Try grilled octopus here it is delicious Thanks a lot to the owners of the bar we loved the atmosphere of the place! One of the places in Istanbul worth visiting

Don 't go there. Food was OK and the waiter friendly and attentive, but we felt we had to dispute the the bill. It was 3500TL 700 TL for 20%VAT. Total 4200TL. In all Turkish restaurants VAT is inclusive in the price you see on the menu. All the food and drink we had was listed correctly. So in our view adding 20% VAT again was double charging, so we refused to pay it. The owners tried to say it was for service. But it said VAT-700tl. There was nothing anywhere to say service would be added and 20% would be a bit excessive. The police were called and we each explained our case. After some discussion and the suggestion that the owners would need to go to the police station as well, we paid the 3500tl by card and tipped the waiter 200tl cash. This was not the waiters fault. VAT in Turkey is 18% and paying for service is always optional. Hope a Turkish VAT official reads this. If you can find there site there are loads of very similar bad reviews saying this place is a wrip off. Myst restaurant, rooftop terrace, part of Charm hotel. Cankurtaran. Mimar Mehmet Aĝa cd. Sürekli gittiğimiz ve yemeklerine bayıldığımız restaurant. Fiyat uygun konumu ve manzarası mükemmel.

Kaliteli ve nezih bir yer. Temiz hijyenik hizmet veriliyor. Manzarasını çok beğeniyorum.
