Cantina Famiglia Mantovani - Itajaí

Exceptionally this last time (for lunch after a walk on the ocean front sidewalk) was really excellent. Mrs Cláudio (Owner) make sure we would had great dishes. Be aware that they are moving to a new location (closed to infinity hotel and Paparella pizzaria). We...will follow them!!!

We have been there for a couple times, but this is our first review. If you are looking for a fresh well made pasta and does not care about wait a little longer (the server is the owner), you will definitely enjoy the place

My wife and daughter and I ate here on a Tuesday night last week. We were looking for an affordable but good spot for dinner on our last night in Balneário Camboriú. Famiglia Mantovani fit the bill. This place is everything that Balneário Camboriú is...NOT. It is not trendy, it is not luxurious, it is not concerned with appearances, and it is definitely not expensive This restaurant is less than a block from Avenida Atlântica, but it might as well be a world away. The person waiting tables was a nimble old man with an apron and Docksides. The person in the kitchen I assumed to be his wife. The restaurant appears to be a former house, and the dining room is just the living room with a number of square tables instead of the sofas and armchairs. By all the tables were taken, and there was a wait at the door to get a table. The pasta dishes were very good. Ravioli was light, but slightly overcooked. Red and white sauce was fine. Fettuccine with sun-dried tomato sauce was a little salty, but otherwise good. We had a starter of toasts with pesto that was pretty good. All the choices on the menu are the classic Italian cantina fare. I would bet that the menu has not changed the whole time they have been in business. As we left, we walked past the American bistro which was number one on TripAdvisor up until last week. That restaurant was empty, and our wallet thanked us for having chosen Famiglia Mantovani
