Ahadu Ethiopian - Jacksonville

The customer service was outstanding, and the staff was incredibly friendly! The food was delicious, and I will definitely return. As for the vegetarian options, they were excellent, with fantastic seasoning!

The food here is incredible—delicious and unique in flavor, unlike anything else you’ll find. I highly recommend it! This cozy mom-and-pop restaurant truly deserves the title of “Michelin Preferred Restaurant.” I don’t usually write reviews, but this place is a must-visit.

I ordered the veggie combo, doro wot, and tibbs to go. The veggie combo was delicious, but the doro wot only had two small pieces of chicken in it, along with an egg. Strangely, both the tibbs and doro wot had a sweet taste, almost as if sugar had been added. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning to this restaurant. I'll stick with my other Ethiopian places in Jacksonville. For context, I've had Ethiopian food many times in different states, and it has always been consistent—except for here.

I was truly impressed by this quaint Ethiopian restaurant. Before my visit, I had never tried authentic Ethiopian food. We ordered three different dishes, and each one—from the lentils to the lamb—was amazing. There wasn't a single item on the plate that I didn't love; everything was full of flavor and simply delicious. The service was outstanding as well; we barely had to wait for our drinks or anything else. It was a fantastic experience, and I will certainly be coming back with friends.

As a devoted enthusiast of Ethiopian cuisine, I can confidently say that Ahadus is the best in town! Their dishes are full of flavor, with the perfect level of spice, and every bite is utterly delicious. I will definitely be coming back more frequently. They also provide excellent vegan and vegetarian options. If you're uncertain about what to order and are looking for something traditional, I highly recommend trying the doro wat (chicken) or key wat (pronounced "Kai," meaning beef), served with collard greens and dry cottage cheese. You won't be disappointed!
