Athens Cafe - Jacksonville

I haven't been to the Athens Cafe on St Augustine Road in a long time. The restaurant has new owners and the food was delicious. I had the vegetarian Dolmades with the orzo, my friend had the lamb Souvlaki. The desserts, oh my, how could we choose? Baklava layered, Greek cookies, Greek chocolate cake, and more!! We will be back soon.

We have been going here for years. The best Greek food we have found in Jacksonville. We highly recommend the chicken and rice soup, and their fresh catch of the day as the whole fish. Their appetizers are amazing as well. I highly recommend the spanakopita and the chicken creta or chicken Athens.

Love this place we are working around the menu as we sit everything is excellent and don't forget desert the staff is friendly and fun to talk to

I love the Athens Cafe. I have been going to it since I moved to Jacksonville in the 1980's, when it has had many long term owners, but the co owners now of Sam and Victoria are fantastic! My normal meal of Gyro platter they elevated to a fine art, but now my comfort food is shrimp sovvlaki. The shrimp is plentiful, the mixed vegetables grilled to perfection (varies between squash, zuccinni, onion, bell pepper, and mushroom! and delightful flavorful rice. I follow it with coffee and baklava made by Victoria. (She makes all the desserts! The only reason I haven't gained weight is I joined the gym.

I went tonight for my birthday we had samplers and. grape leaves was delishious. we will be back.
