This tiny, unassuming restaurant next to a Walmart will blow your mind! The pastas, bread, and sauces are all homemade and have excellent flavor. It’s important to know that they don’t take reservations and seating is first come first serve. There will always be a line before they open, even during the week. If you come too late after the first or second round of seating, you can wait up to two hours. However, it’s worth it for the food! The most popular item on the menu is the pear fiocchi and for good reason! It’s sweet, creamy, and a great flavor combination with the cheese, pear, and prosciutto! Highly recommend! Their burrata is also delicious and unique with their spicy honey to accompany it. Their specials never disappoint either! I recently had braised beef ravioli, which had a bold and deep flavor (still doesn’t beat the pear fiocchi in my opinion though). The service is excellent and the staff is very friendly. You will never be waiting for water or struggling to catch anyone’s attention. They run a good show here. The vibe is cozy and intimate—perfect for date nights!Believe the hype, this place is worth it.Dietary restrictions: The staff always ask about any dietary preferences and will accommodate when possible.
This place is simply awesome and cannot do any better! It is a true Mom and Pop Italian restaurant that serves authentic Italian dishes sorry, not Italian American, but the real deal from the Old Country. Not alot of heavy creams or meaty sauces, but expect instead to have your taste buds absolutely come alive with garlic and olive oil, Portobello mushrooms and black truffle oil, balsamic glaze with citrus infusion... you just have to eat it to believe it. Their menu has a core set of entrees and side dishes, but every month they also add specialties to the menu that absolutely blow your mind away. The only problem is that then those specials that you loved go away. Hmmm, the owner is going to have to fix that! And to speak of the owners, they and their staff are constantly coming around to ask how you are doing, if you like the dish, would you like to try their current favorite this or that. Great welcoming atmosphere. But you better plan your arrival time, because the eating area is not large, and the waiting crowd can be, and NO ONE leaves once they are waiting because the food is that damn good! My wife and I are making a point to come here twice a month because of how much we appreciate the staff, enjoy their company (I 'm talking about you, AJ! and love the food. Oh, you want to know what dish my photo is of? That is the braised short ribs ravioli in a light garlic, black truffles, and olive oil sauce, topped with fresh Parmesan Romano cheese. And yes, it 's one of those specials that will vanish soon, so get there now!
I don't know if we came at an off day or if everyone here just has low standards. The bruschetta was tomato paste on bread, couldn't even eat it. The gnocchi was dry in the middle. Me and my fiancé are both from NY and trying to find good Italian and this was not it. 10/10 do NOT recommend. Also 95% of the menu had mushrooms in it, heads up.
Have you ever been to Charleston SC? There's a restaurant there that's so good, people wait hours to get into, no reservations allowed. It's an incredible oyster bar and seafood restaurant called 167Raw.Catullo's is the 167Raw of Italian food in Jacksonville. The food is so good, I literally would wait pretty much any amount of time. I'll just leave it there. My wife took the photos of the entrees so I'll let her post those. I'll post our desserts.
