Deerwood Bistro - Jacksonville

I absolutely love using Zomato because it helps me discover hidden gems like Deerwood Bistro, tucked away in a plain strip mall, serving amazing food at affordable prices! Instead of opting for the usual fare at the Panera Bread across the street, I tried the delightful curried chicken salad on toasted whole grain, accompanied by a slaw I would describe as "Greek style," featuring a subtly sweet vinegar dressing, onions, and a sprinkle of feta cheese on top. I never would have thought to combine those ingredients, but it’s fantastic!

As soon as I stepped inside, my eyes were drawn to a dessert case brimming with delightful treats, including a tempting tray of cannoli that almost had me saying, "I'll take six to go!" The interior of the restaurant is bright and spacious, offering a mix of booths and tables. You place your order at the counter, receive a number, and then help yourself to a glass based on your drink selection. Coffee and cups can be found in the coffee area, and refills are complimentary.

We absolutely love this spot for brunch! The prices are reasonable, and the staff, including the owner, are always incredibly friendly. I typically order the Benedict, and it's consistently fresh. My wife enjoys the omelette and never fails to love it. Keep up the great work, Deer Wood! We'll definitely be returning!

We really like this place. Been there a few times for breakfast and lunch. It 's becoming our 'go to ' place. Great coffee. Very good food. Friendly staff.

Really Liked It. Our Saturday afternoon lunch at Deerwood Bistro was really good once we figured out where to order. It was our first visit and when we walked in we were not greeted, so we were looking around for some instructions. We finally figured it out: you order at the counter, pay and then you are given a number to put on your table. The cashier forgot to give my husband a number so he had to go back, wait in line again and get one. A little confusing for first timers and some signage might be helpful. That being said, my French Dip had plenty of flavorful roast beef and the homemade horseradish sauce was 'out of this world ' good. It was creamy and tasted like horseradish but didn 't have the bite you normally have with horseradish -YUM! My husband had the ham, Swiss and bacon panini which was nicely toasted and tasted good but he would have preferred a heartier sandwich with more meat. The mac and cheese was really cheesy but had a distractingly grainy texture whereas we both prefer creamy cheese. The Diet Coke tasted fine to me but my husband had a problem finding a fountain drink that tasted okay to him. He tried almost all of them and then gave up and just drank water. The staff was really nice and brought out some delicious bread with olive oil/vinegar for dipping before our meals arrived. I would definitely like to return and try some of the other menu items.
