The party hosting/confectioner, Jeff, was great and kept the kids entertaining and full of sugar! The room was great, and the children (and adults) loved the ice cream cake that was included. Very recommended!
I visited on Friday, 6/10, together with two other adults and 5 children aged 9-15, Sweet Pete’s Lollipop making class. We had a wonderful experience of making watermelon ollipops (we have made 4-5) and learning about the candy production process of Peter. We definitely take a few more classes. We arrived a little early so that children had fun to look around and check all the candies before our class started. With our class admission we got a pot of ice, and there were so many flavors to choose, but I went with a classic peach as it is the season. Never knew that there was dough flavored ice cream, but yes, in fact, and I was told it tasted like sugar cookies. All at Sweet Pete’s were warm and welcoming and we didn’t leave empty hands. In any case came home with some sea salt caramels and milk chocolate covered popcorn. Yum! Yum! This place is one of the best secrets of Jacksonville and worth visiting for homemade candy, old-fashioned candy and learning about the process (to forget to say they have factory viewing areas so that you can see other things are made). Thanks to Peter (Jacksonville's own Willy Wonka) and all employees at Sweet Pete's to help us start our summer on a great note.
This is not a candy shop it is a candy experience! Three levels of delightful fun including views of the candy factory. We need to see that candies are wrapped on a machine that was so interesting. We have the payment by the pound option for many sweets including unusual aromas of salt water Taffy. We also have chocolates on the first floor. We enjoyed them on the veranda decorated for Christmas and enjoy the experience so much. I highly recommend it! Oh and there are all kinds of retro candy a strange flavors of candy that you would not see anywhere else like the cannon without taste!
We registered for the mummy creator class. We've never been here and enjoyed walking around and seeing the candy makers in action. The class was beautiful, but definitely more oriented towards families and children. The adult candy drinks are brilliant and delicious! In any case you have to visit the area.
Really cute place and really liked the Christmas decor! They sell a variety of candies and chocolate, as well as milkshake and fun/creative flavored soda. I had the pickle-flavored soda and it was great! The staff members were also friendly and helpful. They also have sessions and classes as well as quick tour on the candy production and history of the store. Would definitely recommend if you are visiting the downtown Jacksonville area!
