The staff was extremely friendly and made an effort to assist us in understanding the menu, despite speaking limited English. The food was delicious, and we ended up dining at the restaurant three times during our trip while staying near a friend's house. We particularly enjoyed the crispy Texas (which tasted even better when cold for takeout) and the fried noodles. The avocado and chocolate ice cream, topped with sprinkles, was a fantastic dessert choice.
I was really pleased with my experience at this restaurant, although for a tourist, it may be a bit far away. I took the bus from Sarinah, and it took almost 1.5 hours to get there, and even longer on the way back due to rush hour. From the bus stop (Bermis), it's about a 10-minute walk through a quiet middle-class suburb to the restaurant. I arrived slightly before 5:00 and most of the food had been eaten. There were only 3 dishes left, and I tried them all: fake fish, fried eggplant with sambal, and deep-fried eggplant. They were simple but delicious, served at room temperature. Along with rice and water, the meal cost 14000 Rupiahs. As I was leaving, a hot plate of sizzling tofu was brought to a table nearby, so it seems you can also request dishes to order.
The staff was very friendly and tried to help us understand the menu as best as they could (although they spoke little English). Avocado and chocolate ice cream (with sprinkles for afters was awesome.

Just as I was leaving a nice hot plate full of tangy tofu was brought to a table next to me so apparently you can request dishes to order too.
