It has been a long time since I last visited, but the best homemade umesu by far!
This izakaya exceeded our expectations! The only dish we didn't enjoy was the tebasaki, but everything else was fantastic. In regards to some negative reviews, I disagree that the staff (who are all the chef's mothers) are unfriendly towards foreigners. In fact, I witnessed them being accommodating to Chinese customers who couldn't speak Japanese. Our server even made sure to check if we were in a rush to catch a train, as some dishes require extra preparation time. Keep in mind that empty tables may not be available as the izakaya takes reservations and reserves tables.
Stunned on this place, as many shops of sashimi set were closed was fresh and tasty. Cheese omelette was also great. they enjoy the suzuka manju, mashed taro root w pieces lotus root w mushroom sauce, was very tasteful. the fried fish was delicious! great place!
Cozy little traditional restaurant where you will find lots of locals (so this is perfect to avoid touristic places) that serves authentic local food at a reasonable price. The sashimi rice set was amazing. They also serve sake in the traditional wooden cup. They only accept cash. Highly recommended!
