This was a place that I wanted to visit for a long time, but my carnivores moved elsewhere. to now! I could enjoy going with my friend who did not consider vegetarian vegan food and I was not disappointed! the tante who runs the load did not wear a mask all the time, but the food was prepared for each order and the load is secret.
It is a nice little vegetarian place, they can manage some English, but more importantly, will show the items that are vegan. the food was simple and tasty. it seemed guided by a single dame (although it was fairly well managed), would recommend when they are in and looking for vegetarian or vegan foods.
Tachikawa is a unique place with a blend of Tokyo's grandeur but a slower pace of life. Upon stepping out of the train, the difference from central Tokyo is apparent, reflecting in the variety of restaurants available. Among the limited options for vegan and vegetarian dining near Tachikawa station, Hoccori Cafe stands out. Despite lacking signs or visuals indicating its vegetarian nature, this cozy spot offers a menu mostly in Japanese and limited English spoken by the owner. While only a few main meals are vegan, such as spicy sesame ramen, tomato curry, and assorted vegetables, there are also vegan sweets and snacks available. I chose the ochatsuke, a comforting dish of rice, seaweed, and beans in hot tea water, with a side salad. It was a delightful experience.
This restaurant is conveniently located within walking distance of Tachikawa station. They mainly serve vegan dishes (the owner will inform you of any dishes that contain dairy or eggs), but the majority of the menu is vegan. We visited for lunch with our occasionally rambunctious 4-year-old, and the owner was friendly, accommodating, and served our food with a smile. The vegan dishes we tried were delicious and satisfying. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area! It is worth noting that the restaurant's address is not listed as "Tachikawa," so it may not show up on Happy Cow when searching for vegan options in the area, but it is only an approximately 8-minute walk from Tachikawa station.
