Contribuisci feedbackCame here with a vegan group and enjoyed a very nice bento with vegan ham, vegan meatballs, as well as salads and vegetables (cooked by fresh.) also had a blueberry smooth. all delicious. after that, the owner also offered us vegan kara’age "honoured, which was very good. there is also a vegan diner in caffe, where they can buy vegan cookies, snacks, curries and dried were (noodles etc.) I don't know that I could find my own way there (I was brought by a friend who drives there) it does not seem to be a place that is easily accessible by public transport. owner is very nice and speaks fluent English. updated by previous review on 2019-10-13
The pin location on the map was inaccurate, took us on the mountain road and said the caffe was in the middle of the forest, asked many different locals if they knew where it was, no success. directions say next to the railway station, but do not specify which station to find. I was as sad as I haven't found a vegan caffe in the opposite. safe, eating is great, only be careful if they are looking for a place to eat for hiking! hard to find.
Today we went spontaneously after a mountain-so walk into this beautiful vegan caffe and when we arrived, the owner (her name is chie) was already in the process of closing because it ran out of Causes. we were somewhat disappointed because we were so happy, even found a vegan café/restaurant around aso. but then Chie-san offered us to stay and somehow arranged her a really tasty special meal and tee just for us. she even bought a few more things to make us happy. we did not want to cause their effort and did not want to be rude or unrespectful. she was very warm. that was such a special experience today that I will not just forget and we are happy to spend some days in aso. So we come back at least tomorrow to enjoy even more of Chie-sans special vegan meals! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
The pin location on the map was wrong, leading us up a mountain road and claiming the cafe was in the middle of the forest. We asked multiple locals for directions to no avail. The instructions mention the cafe is near a station, but don't specify which one. I was disappointed as I couldn't find another vegan cafe nearby. The food was delicious, but be cautious if looking for a post-hike meal as the location is hard to find.
Today, after a hike up Mount Aso, we decided to visit this charming vegan cafe on a whim. Upon arrival, we were disappointed to find that the owner, Chie, was in the process of closing due to running out of items. However, Chie-san warmly welcomed us to stay, and went above and beyond to prepare a delicious special meal and tea just for us. She even went out to purchase more items to make us happy. Despite not wanting to inconvenience her or be rude, Chie's kindness was truly heartwarming. This unexpected experience was truly special and unforgettable, and we look forward to returning to enjoy more of Chie-san's amazing vegan meals during our time in Aso. Thank you so much!
