Service was good, likely due to the slow lunchtime crowd, so the staff was attentive without being overwhelmed. The brisket itself was excellent—very flavorful and moist, with just the right amount of fat to enhance the taste. The collard greens were also delicious, though they had a strong vinegar flavor; personally, I enjoyed that, but I know it might not appeal to everyone. The mac and cheese was decent, although I found its texture a bit unusual, even though the flavor was there. They offered two types of sauce: original and spicy. Both were good but didn’t stand out as exceptional; frankly, the brisket didn’t require much in terms of added flavor. I went in with high expectations and left satisfied, albeit not completely blown away. I do plan to return and explore more items on the menu.
The flavors at this restaurant are absolutely incredible! Honestly, we tried the smoked wings and a brisket sandwich, accompanied by two sides of macaroni and cheese and potato salad. The potato salad was AMAZING! I’m not usually a big fan of potato salad, but this one was exceptional. I would definitely recommend stopping by. The only reason I’m giving it four stars instead of five is because of the Bourbon loop drink. It was nearly impossible to enjoy because the combination of paper and plastic straws kept breaking, and the drink was so icy that it wouldn’t come out of the cup easily. It was frustrating to have such a great drink and not be able to enjoy it fully. Aside from that, everything was fantastic!
Excellent bbq in a unique environment, an old workshop building. On par with the best Bbq chicken sandwich I had everywhere.
The banana pudding was the best I've ever had—I'd love to get my hands on the recipe! However, the brisket was incredibly dry, like a lifeless body in the Arizona desert. On the bright side, the pork was fantastic!
This is a great location… LOTS of outdoor seating. So I will say it is a tad expensive compared to other BBQ I have had. Louisville is NOT a BBQ hot spot so compared to Texas or KC it’s not in the same ballpark BUT it is good and better than most I’ve had in Kentucky… I had the pork sandwich. What they do have is an Ale 8 One (Kentucky Ginger Ale) and Bourbon Slushie other places around serve these also but this is hands down the best one! It’s a MUST when you go here. I give 4 stars on food, 5 stars on atmosphere and excellent outdoor seating, and 5+ stars for the Bourbon Slushie!
