I can recommend the local rhubarb spray.
The place was very difficult to find, as the numbering of the street was quite confusing and there was no sign for the caffe at all. but somehow we went up some steps and then, although a tor and then more steps up and finally we found a door that we went through, so finally we were in, but we were not sure until the last moment. the place is very cozy and quiet. we ordered a sweet soup with cocos milk (for 3.2 euro) and the pornstars they had left for 4 o'clock (for 3.8 euro), but we have seen on the board that they were at least 6-7 during the day and all were vegan. the portions are enormous. the suppe had great aromen, but the sweet was a bit overboiled, the main was a little tasteless and overdone. we also tried a apricot cheese cake that was fabulous. it's a real shade that we've found a vegan-friendly place in such a small city as jena. eating was not the best I can imagine, but with the place that was so cozy and cheap, we were very happy what we had. updated by previous review on Thursday, 08 December 2011
The menu changes daily. usually vegan. eat on weekdays at lunchtime. they do not pass a huge, so late on the afternoon can come to limit their choices to be warned. according to a worker they sometimes serve on Sundays after 15 o'clock food. this place is very cheap, a meal is in the regular about 2.5 3.5 euro, tasty in the regular vegan desserts for 1 1.2 drinks, wein, beer and music. wagner cafe is in the evening a club pub place with film screenings and live music. check their website for the program [hidden link] . board games evening a few times in the month. a good place to go, especially that there are no alternatives for vegan vegetarian food in jena.

I love to come here at the same time or meet with language exchange partners. as others have commented, the kitchen is not always open – they will eat in the evening, but only when left to lunch. until midday or 12:30 o'clock, or they will sell from the good quality. super relaxed, all veggie and mostly vegan, inexpensive. eating is simple and utilitarian, but always satisfying.
