For those of us who had the luck of eating at Toro Bravo before they closed, know what the standard for tapas in PDX should be. The reviews above 2 stars likely come from people who are tourists and have never had the luck of having good tapas, or hapless investors of this boondoggle of a restaurant. My wife and I went to this place on a Saturday night for date night. We showed up earlier than our reservation time and the host upfront was gracious enough to sit us early. In general the service is fantastic from the very moment you check in with the host. The atmosphere is also great. Good acoustics for having a one on one conversation, plenty of room between tables, great decor and a clean and modern space. The only category where this place comes one star short is on the food. TL;DR: So intimate and romantic! What a cute place!! I was able to snag a 7pm reservation the day of my Friday visit. I went here with two friends and it was a fun time. You know by the name to expect small plates, but they are all reasonably priced and designed to share. All the staff members I encountered were very friendly and helpful.
