Pricing for the same plate I get at Pho Kim next door is quite expensive and the quality doesn’t match Pho Kim. I wouldn’t say Pho Van was that bad but it’s just my experience and I really enjoy the overall experience at Pho Kim. Plus they have sports tvs as well.
I haven’t been to Pho Van in years and will never be coming back. The lack of kindness and customer service my son and I received. We did not ask for anything extra besides a refill of our water, not only did the waitress not utter one word to us, she just placed the water jug on our table and walked away. I don’t want to make it a racial thing, but she was a lot nicer to the Caucasian diners next to us (we’re Asian). Maybe not all diners are worthy of nice service? Either way, not cool at all. … – show
The restaurant is clean and nice enough for a date night. I got the combination pho and the chicken wings. This is in the top 5 best pho broths in Portland. The bowl is smaller than other places, but these bowls come FULL. My biggest complaint is that the broth was not hot enough, but I give Pho Van five stars because the broth was so well-balanced.
Pho Van is one of my go-to places to get pho. It provides a more sophisticated dining experience for the same price as other pho places. The atmosphere is beautiful, and service has always been excellent. The pho is not the best I've ever had, but it is definitely up there in my favorites! I'd highly recommend:
Went there twice, and twice the foods were delicious albeit a little salty. It’s pricey, but authentic Vietnamese foods. I’m glad I’ve finally found a very good Vietnamese restaurant in Portland. Best is to go during weekdays if you don’t want standing in a crowded wait line. Ample parking spaces during weekdays.
