Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

During my five-day vacation in the Mountain Top area of Wilkes-Barre and Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, I had the opportunity to tour Penn's Peak.

I visited last night to see String Cheese Incident, and I was thoroughly impressed with the venue. It was stunningly beautiful. Parking was very easy, and I had no issues getting in or out. The overall experience was fantastic.

This place is incredible! The tickets weren't inexpensive, but it was definitely worth it!

Before heading over, we called and asked about their pet policy, and spoke to someone in person as well, but we learned that the restaurant connected to Penn’s Peak, known as Roadies, is not pet-friendly. They explained that other guests on the patio might be frightened by our very small and calm dog. While we found this reasoning a bit off, we respected their decision. Instead, we ordered our food and found a gazebo to eat in. We were enjoying the beautiful views and our meal with our pup when we spotted a younger couple sitting on the patio with a baby and a DOG! We couldn't help but wonder why they were allowed to dine on the deck while we weren't. Was it because we weren’t regulars? It felt very confusing and frustrating. As for the food, it was just okay, especially because we were eating from takeout boxes with plastic utensils. The tater tots turned out a bit soggy, and the sweet potato fries tasted stale. However, I would recommend the pierogies—they were quite tasty. We were also puzzled by the sweet flavor of the meat in the pork totchos, which was much sweeter than the pulled pork.
