Our kids all had a ball I see there are new outfits in the dress up area and everything has had a fresh coat of paint. Thabane you are wonderful thanks for entertaining our kids. Marvelous crafts they all took home. Try the brie cheese buurger or the spinach salad with strawbs yum. we will be back
Great place to relax and have a meal with small kids. The child minders are great and the food is high quality. Definitely highly recommended
If you are a parent with small children in Johannesburg you 've probably already heard about Serendipity. And yes, it is all it 's cracked up to be.<br/ <br/ I 've rated Serendipity a 4, not because of its food (which is average) or the service (which can be mediocre) but because of their stellar childminders who will literally keep your tot occupied for hours on end.<br/ <br/ They guided my toddler to playing first in the various jungle gyms and play houses scattered through the garden setting, then to the ball pit, the sandpit, and to the trampoline, then had him riding little bikes around and eventually chilling on the swings. <br/ <br/ Yes, I waited about an hour for my meal to come but at least I could have a decent conversation with my friends for that hour, while our kids were entertained by some very skilled and engaged childminders. When my breakfast eventually came, it was perfectly decent, so even with the wait, I can 't really complain that much. <br/ <br/ They have a big breakfast menu and a separate lunch menu, but being a family oriented place, they 're perfectly happy to serve you breakfast even at noon. If you 're not up for a full meal, there 's always tea and cake to be had. The kiddie menu will keep your kids suitably fueled for all the playing they will do.<br/ <br/ But let 's face it, people don 't come here for the food. Kids have a blast at the place. Smaller ones love the play equipment, older ones love the arts and crafts room, and as soon as they know what 'dress up ' means they all go a little crazy in the dressing up room. Seeing tots dressed as dragons, lions and fairies wandering around the garden are par for the course.<br/ <br/ If you want to be outdoors, don 't want to drive very far, and want to have a quiet meal without bolting after your children every five minutes, this is the place to go. The childminder fee (R45 for the first child, R40 for the second, and R30 for each thereafter) is worth every penny.
We decided to go try out serendipity and Im so glad i did not read the previous review before making a decision. The place was recently taken over by new owners and I think they have a lot of potential. I'm really impressed with the childminders. Its my first time to see male childminders and the guys do a sterling job. The food was great and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back!
Great location for a relaxed time for people with children. Suitable food for kids (including fussy eaters) and options for adults are not too bad either. My rating is for the food, I would rate a 4 when taking the entire experience into account.
