The place was not busy, there were a few drunks at the bar that were loud and acting like overgrown toddlers every once in awhile and one other booth occupied. Our waitress was good. The decor and the building is nice, I really like the old downtown buildings. The food was ok, sorry, it really was just okay. I was disappointed as I was looking forward to Ben Yay 's, I will try it one more time once they have their full menu available, we 'll see if it improves. Ordered fried oyster deviled eggs and the oysters were breaded and fried, not much you can say about that, the filling for the deviled eggs was just the yellow yolk with not much flavor to it. It had some red stuff sprinkled on it, I assume paprika, but it did not lend much to the taste. On top of that, the eggs were not much better, not bad, just ok. They tasted like pre-packaged, hard-boiled, gas station eggs. I was really hoping that this dish would hit a home run but it was a walk. The sausage po 'boy was very salty. The fries were seasoned well but the sandwich was a bit much on the salt. Aside from that, it was ok. The drinks were good, they don 't seem to skimp on alcohol, it seems like a good amount. Probably won 't be back since the food was not a huge attraction for me. They do offer 2 unisex bathrooms and the restaurant is located on Main St, so walking the quiet area after dinner could be an attraction for you. There are also other places to eat along Main St.
The food was great! I had the Boom Boom Shrimp, Red Beans Rice and a Lost 40 Rockhound IPA. The service was good, too. And live music! What's not to like?Food: 5/5
Went there months ago and the taco salad and santa fe egg rolls were absolutely fantastic. Just had the worst $13 taco salad I have ever had in my life. Altogether $35 for terrible food. No santa fe rolls. No salsa, meat was tasteless, about 10 pieces of corn and 15 corn chips. They just lost customers and I will definitely spread the word!
1st time in and probably the last time in. Went in for brunch. The menu was full of great ideas, but what actually came to the table fell way short of the best of intentions.I had steak eggs Benedict, which consists of chopped steak marinated in something with Worcester Sauce on top of Texas Toast and hasbrowns with poached eggs on top.To begin with, the food arrived cold. LIKE REALLY COLD. An egg boiled in water without the shell does not a poached egg make. There is a method and there are those that can and should do this and those that can't and should not. Stop it. The steak marinade wasn't for me. The side of fried potatoes was supposed to be seasoned but barely had salt. The waiter was absent most of the time preffering to spend his time yucking it up with the kitchen staff( I assume they could have been laughing about the fact that I continued to eat my food regardless of how cold it was) instead of refilling our drinks or getting us a check. I refilled my own glass twice and finally got up to leave before I was offered a check to pay.Swing and a miss guys. Fix your problems for the next guy because I won't be back.
Sat inside for 30 minutes and no one ever spoke to me or my 7 year old son. All we wanted was a chili dog for him, and he just sat there waiting while his dad tried to get someone to take/fill an order. I've never been impressed by this place before now, however, I try to patron small/local restaurants when I do go out, and I just feel gross about the way we were treated. Won't be back, not that they wanted us anyways.
