The ribs are fall off the bone melt in your mouth. The brisket is to die for. Oh yes, and the hillbilly nachos…oh so yummy! Trust me, you will not walk away hungry, the portions are huge. All of the sides are amazing, especially the mac and cheese and fried okra. Want to try something on the lighter side, go for the BLT with a fried green tomato…you will not be disappointed. Definitely check them out on the weekends, it is action packed Thursday-Saturday with live music. Ben the owner is absolutely amazing, he is always greeting his customers and helping throughout the restaurant where needed! So what are you waiting for, get down there and check them out!!
I called to make lunch reservations but I was told they don't take reservations. This was contrary to what I was told when I called previously. My parents had been wanting to try this place for a while. We had shown up for dinner once were turned away because they were fully booked which makes no sense if they don't take reservations!!! In my attempts to get my parents a meal which included the meats only served on Friday Saturday, I have been told a multitude of different things about reservations, cover charges, open dining room other things. We arrived at 1:30pm on a Saturday. There was an area chained off in front of the door to serve as a holding pen for customers. We entered were abruptly told we would have to provide a zip code telephone number that we would be texted when a table was available. We provided the info proceeded to exit the corral. After 5 or 10 minutes, my father my commented that the food had better be good since we were having to wait. The rather rude man working the door yelled over that he could seat us if we would be willing to sit inside. I was rather frustrated that he had never asked where we wanted to sit, but merely assumed we wanted to sit outside. We didn't.We were seated our server arrived promptly. She took our drink order disappeared. It was a good 10 minutes until she returned with the beverages: water, tea Sprite. We placed our orders waited... waited... waited. The food was delivered by a runner. Our server came by a few minutes later we were able to request a spicy BBQ sauce. She delivered it in a minute we did not see her again until we were trying to get the check to leave. The food was actually decent. I ordered the hillbilly nachos they were well adorned with toppings quite tasty. My dad ordered the brisket plate was extremely happy with the tenderness flavor. Mom ordered the pit master combo so we could all try everything. I tried the brisket which really was quite tender delicious. The pulled pork was good. The smoked wings were hot crispy tasty. The ribs seemed like they would have been excellent if they hadn't been burned to black on one side. I had smoked bologna at home so I skipped that. The fried okra was hot crunchy the batter was well seasoned. I didn't try the mac cheese, but mom liked it. I did try Dad's fries really liked those also. I know my parents will be returning for the food, but the almost haughty person working the door rubbed me entirely wrong I won't be back.
Hardly ever complain about local establishments but this place has really gone downhill ...Arrived at 7:55 on a Friday night to a band playing and was told there was a $5 cover to sit, eat and listen to music which was perfectly fine. Sat at the bar with the band leaving stage at 8 and starting to break down(? ... yes, at 8. Asked about the cover charge and was told they 'd remove it.Ordered a drink and some food from the nice waitress. Waited for our $12 and $15 burger and fries (yes again, $12 and $15 until 8:40 something. Ate mine and wife ate half of hers with the place starting to close as we ate. Wife goes to the bathroom to wash her hands and comes back to a cleared off area. No offer made to take her food home after eating half of her $15 burger or even an apology just the Kid Rock wannabe owner telling our waitress that he doesn 't want to be here all night and to stop talking and get moving. We just took the loss and left with a bad taste in our mouth (in more ways than one . Won 't be coming back on date nights or bringing anyone there anymore. Rude and Expensive is how we 'll be describing this place (2 burgers, fries and a terrible margarita each $60 w/ tip . Go to nearby Pals for much better burgers and fries at a fraction of the price.
Awesome all the way around!! Our burgers were some of the best we've ever had, creatively designed and pulled high. We had the Memphis Jack the Barrel Burger.. Highly recommend both! Place had a great vibe and was well-decorated, with lots of interesting pieces on the walls.Service was spot on, as well.
A delightful surprise! We ordered two sample trays for the table, and they were not only delicious but also a great way to try a variety of meats and sides. Our server, Maddie, was incredibly efficient, friendly, and helpful—truly a joy! Despite being quite busy, she made sure to meet all our needs and requests. This was my first visit, but it certainly won’t be my last. I’m thrilled to have discovered a new favorite restaurant!
