Wolf Creek Inn - Josephine County

The Wolf Creek Inn is located in the Umpqua Mountains, just north of Grants Pass. The Oregon Parks Department has meticulously restored it to its former glory as a historic stage stop between San Francisco and Portland. The inn has welcomed notable figures such as Ulysses S. Grant and several famous authors. The service was courteous, and we were seated immediately. Although the kitchen is small, the food was well-prepared and delivered in a timely manner. The salad, featuring an optional local berry vinaigrette, was quite tasty. The fish was fresh and flaky, seasoned just right. The atmosphere is charming, making it easy to envision life in the 1880s while wandering through the 150-year-old orchard in the back.
