La Couronne - Jougne

DELICIOUS SUPPER after a long drive- MUCH appreciated. Many Thanks. Only one night but HIGHLY recommend. Very comfy beds, quiet and glorious countryside around.

We often pass through Jougne on our way to Italy. While starting to look for a hotel close to the Swiss border on the French side, we got the last room available. The room was a three bedroom suite, with a matrimonial bed on the front side of the hotel and a single bed at the rear. The hotel has a nice garden. The restaurant was fully booked, so we had to eat elsewhere.

We stopped at around eight o’clock last Wednesday evening for dinner at this hotel which we last visited a few years ago. We enjoyed a very good meal and an excellent bottle of wine served with efficiency and friendliness on the pretty terrace behind the hotel. A REVIEW OF THIS HOTEL posted yesterday was meant for a hotel in REIMS and was made in error. Sorry for any confusion!

Pretty room, rustic/modern decoration, the boss's son at the service. He is very enthusiastic and loves his profession. I think we have to let their marks take before writing a thorough opinion, but the meat was excellent, and the foie gras very good. They took the case a few months ago, but I'm not sure their cook is up to their establishment, it's a bit of a shame because the young boss is so full of goodwill.

A quick lunch here in their back garden was just right as we passed west towards Troyes.We all had salads , which were good. The charming waiter suggested a half bottle of Jura Chardonnay, which was corked, but my companions did not notice !
