The line wasn’t too long when we arrived, although I’ve heard it can get quite lengthy at times. We decided to try the caramel apple pie, and it was incredible. The crust was perfectly light and airy, with just the right amount of caramel, and the apples were delightful. I would definitely return to this place in the future.
This place was a delightful surprise! After a nearby hike, one of our friends recommended a slight detour to Julian, and I'm so glad we did! The pie was fantastic, and the cinnamon ice cream was incredible as well! They also have a lovely outdoor area in the back where you can sit and enjoy your food.
I assumed that arriving half an hour before closing time would mean fewer people, but to my surprise, there was a line out the door. Thankfully, the staff was efficient! I ordered a whole boysenberry apple pie for $20, and it was absolutely delightful. I noticed many others enjoying slices topped with ice cream. They offer a wide variety of delicious pies and baked goods. Plus, they have frozen pies available for you to take home and bake yourself. It's a really charming place; I just wish they stayed open later than 5 PM!
Delicious, fresh made pies, served warm with toppings like icecream, whipped cream etc. Staff were friendly, fast and courteous. Tge line was long but moves very fast, limited sitting inside but plenty of room outside. Offers whole pies to take home around $22
On Saturday, April 8, 2023, my friends and I stopped by. We frequent this establishment often after hiking in the area. We have lunch at Farmhouse 78 and then come nextdoor, to Julian 's. Half of my friends love this place. The other half say it 's overrated. I 'm actually not a pie person, but one of the girls in my hiking group is a Foodie and she has an IG for foodie content. She wanted to try this place; it was her first time. As I was leaving, my brother was holding the door for her because she was the last one picking up her order, and he is a gentleman. I noticed something was going on. There was an older Caucasian lady (staff) telling my brother, you shouldn 't be holding that door open, close it , in a stern tone. My Foodie friend heard and told her, He was just holding the door open for me . The staff member replied back with, Well, we are closing and we don 't want anyone to come in this way ! They held their tongue and just left. We were all in the car when they told the rest of us what happened. As an employee, she should 've just politely apologized or say it differently. My friends just spent over $100 there combined! The attitude was unnecessary. There was a couple on a motorcycle who witnessed it all, and they said, so much for chivalry . My foodie friend immediately deleted all of the content she made videos of to make a reel and give them some extra exposure. My Foodie friend also gave the final verdict on this place, she also felt that this place is over-rated and would not come back, not even if in the area.
