Great local brewery: tasty food and fine draft beer.
I'm not a seafood eater, so when my wife and daughter went to Tracy's King Crab Shack...I took my other 2 daughters to Alaskan Brewing Co for probably the best burger I've had in a long time.
Good beer, nice gift shop, but surprisingly limited stock. I asked about a shirt because they only had 1 left and it was dirty and stained, and I was told to check the depot location in town. That location did have what I was looking for. This location has a lot of space, but the outdoor area is lacking atmosphere. There was cement and a fence, and very few chairs to sit in.My final comment is that I was disappointed that there is no brewery tour. I specifically went out of my way to this location because Google maps says they have tours, and I saw on multiple website say that they offer tours and free samples. I asked about it and they do not have tours, instead they have a room with some photos and a 15 minute video that plays on loop. It was, again, a bit lackluster. Sure, it offers the history of the company, but I went to go on a Brewery tour and that was not it. So, tip to the company, if possible, consider offering a guided tour.
One of the great breweries of Juneau, do a pub crawl of Alaskan, Devils Club, and Barnaby!
