El Sombrero - Juneau

I was in the mood for Mexican food and found this place online just a few blocks from my hotel. The food was outstanding! I ordered the Carne Asada, and having grown up in South Texas and traveled extensively through Mexico, I can say it was a real treat. The menu caters to those looking for authentic Mexican cuisine as well as cruise ship tourists who might prefer a hamburger. The staff was friendly and attentive, making for a pleasant dining experience. The only downside is that the restaurant only serves beer and wine; they don’t offer Don Julio Margaritas. However, they do have a nice selection of Mexican beers.

I consider them family and so of course they treated us well. The food is awesome and the service is great.

I absolutely love eating here. Despite my inability to switch from the two menu items I usually eat. I'm more than willing to help anyone else finish their plate.

Every time I visit Juneau, as I take away at least one meal in El Sombrero, is mandatory. Delicious and the best flan I ever had.

The food is excellent, and the service is top-notch. My favorite dish is the arroz con pollo, and the mudcake dessert is truly brilliant.
