Sandbar Grill - Juneau

The halibut here is fantastic! The staff are wonderful, creating a welcoming atmosphere that feels like home among friends. Wheelchair accessibility is great, as the restaurant is located on the first floor, making it easy to enter.

We arrived on a cruise and were eager to try some local halibut fish and chips. A long-time local recommended the Sandbar instead of the typical tourist spots near the cruise docks. They warned us it was more of a dive bar, but that was precisely the kind of experience we wanted. The service was great, and the halibut was outstanding. Don’t be misled by its shabby appearance; you're there for the delicious fish.

The service was excellent, and the fish and chips were the best I've ever tasted. I highly recommend it!

The beer battered chicken strips are tasty, well seasoned and battered. Batter is so delicious and crispy. I recommend and say try it.

The food here was seriously good. The fish and chips were dank and the sandwiches delicious. Pretty typical bar atmosphere but the drinks were reasonably priced and the patrons and staff friendly. 9/10 recommend.
