The salad was ok but the sauted onions were missing on the salad, the dressing was thicker than in past and the first basket of bread was stale ... so we asked for fresh, which was better. A small bottle of olive oil was put on the table...no seasonings or wait staff pouring it like previously. Fish was good (grouper) but too much parmigiana cheese; it was stringy. Never before; also heavy on sauce. Prior 2 sides were offered , now even with increased prices only one comes w dinner. Our waiter was attentive but referred to us (all 55-85) as “you guys”! Miss the old place!! Sorry!
The AC system in the restaurant was broken and the section we were seated in had no AC on a very hot day. We were not notified prior to arrival but decided to stay and sweat through the meal as we had small children with us and could not change plans last minute. Staff was very nice but food that was ordered didn't arrive as ordered. Had to repeatedly ask where items were. Appetizers arrived after entrees. There either wasn't enough attention in our section or the restaurant was understaffed. The bread was tasty and probably the best thing about the meal. The lobster was chewy, the yellow tail special was uneventful with too much oil and breading obscuring any flavor of the fish, the tuna poke had too much cilantro and the chips that accompanied the dish were completely tasteless. Everything about this experience needs to be improved. I hope it does. It seems to be a staple of the neighborhood and the neighborhood deserves better than subpar food with a discount lobster special. Fix your AC and get your house in order. Show your customers you care about their dining experience.
Really a great experience. The food, service and value was really spectacular. The restaurant is under new ownership, and we have been before... I think it hasn't changed a bit. Everything was still just as good if not better. Our server Jeremy was great. We had our drink and first course rather quickly. Main entree came quickly thereafter. We had the captain's platter, the fish house pasta and the Shrimp of the angels pasta dish!!! And the clam chowder! I'm from Boston so... I'm very fussy! This reminded me of captain parkers on cape cod. Chowder was amazing!! The meals were all so good that I stuffed myself to the point of to return! lol. I give it a high 5!!! This one will not disappoint.
Service good and lobster special good. Disappointed that I could not use my rewards $10.00 I had purchased in advance to use. The Fish House would not accept it on special dinners. I did not know this in advance.
We were pleasantly surprised with our Mother's Day dinner at JBFH. The service was terrific, the server and staff very pleasant and accommodating. Variety of food choices, and everything was nicely cooked. We will return!
