Contribuisci feedbackThe sushi at this restaurant was delicious. The service was a bit slow, and we were surprised when the waiter included a 20% tip on our bill without asking first. Overall, we had to wait longer than expected.
Shiono is a hidden gem on the island, offering delicious food that is worth venturing off the usual path for. The restaurant seemed to be popular among locals and we had to wait for a table after 5:30pm, but arriving early meant we were seated right away. The tuna tataki and grilled mackerel were both amazing dishes. We definitely plan on returning before our vacation ends!
We visited this restaurant twice during our short stay in Kona and both times were truly culinary adventures. The servers we had were incredibly hardworking, but it seems they could use more help. Despite the wait, the food was definitely worth it. We tried the kimchee, scallop sashimi, unagi-cucumber roll, sashimi plate, gyozas, and seaweed salad, all of which were fantastic. We would love to visit this restaurant more often if it wasn't a 3,000-mile trip away.

You owe it to yourself to come here. They definitely know their stuff. We started our trip here and HAD to end with it. Sushi is excellent ? ? and the Ramen OMG WOW. My husband was so happy. GO and then some...
