Kalapawai Market Kailua Beach

I really enjoyed the avocado toast for breakfast! It wasn't very large, but it was the perfect size for me after my sunrise hike. The coffee is excellent too! I've just moved to Kailua, and I plan to visit more frequently!

This establishment has been around since 1932, which is quite impressive. It's a market that also features a deli in the back, offering sandwiches, tacos, and other prepared foods. Its location on Kailua Beach is ideal, allowing you to grab a bite to eat and then head straight to the beach. There is also a small outdoor seating area for dining, although it is limited. While the prices can be on the high side, the convenience makes it worthwhile.

Stop by this place after your hike at the Lanikai Pillbox (Pro tip: park at the first beach and take the trail to the entrance). After our hike, we were hungry and made our way from the beach parking lot through the park to this restaurant. We ordered the fresh fish special, the chicken and bean sandwich, and a couple of drinks. The sourdough bread was amazing, and the chicken was cooked to perfection. The drink and snack selection was really impressive, featuring a variety of fun, local options instead of just the usual brands. Everything was fantastic, especially considering how convenient this spot is to the beach. There are also three small picnic tables on the side of the building for when you're too hungry to walk back. We'll definitely be coming back to try more items, and maybe even breakfast next time. The purple potato side dish really caught my eye!

Hide in sight! In the back... super fresh and delish! We had a turkey cranberry sandwich, a darkened fresh fishing package (Swordfish Today), a pasta salad section and a hummus vieggie wrap. Would definitely go back! Also had an ingenious, made to order, grilled burgers and great grilled hot dog from the on-profit pop outside. All sooooooo good wine at the bottle, cold drink and beer for sale in cans and bottles. Beautiful small market... more than meets the eye safe

Kalapawai Market is a wonderful local market on the North Shore Oahu. The market sells about anything you may need or want, a fixture in the local community for years!
