Quekas Mexican - Kalamazoo

My husband and I ordered the appetizer platter along with the Birria quesadilla (the picture only shows half of the quesadilla). Everything was absolutely delicious and there was plenty of food! The Birria was tender and incredibly flavorful. Everything was served hot and fresh. The salsa had a nice kick, but it was so good, and the guacamole was excellent too. Overall, it was a fantastic meal for this pregnant lady, and we can't wait to come back for their taco special on Mondays!

I visited Quekas Authentic Mexican Food on E Cork St in Kalamazoo, MI, after hearing great things from Julio, an experienced Mexican food enthusiast who would travel miles for their Tacos de Birria. The warmth of Mexican hospitality was truly present in Carmen's service and the quality of the food. My wife, Natalya, ordered the Aztec soup, while I opted for a bowl of pozole and, of course, the Tacos de Birria. We were not disappointed; the meal was truly exceptional, and while it was a bit pricey, it was worth every penny.

This local gem is a definite must-visit! Everything here is homemade, and you can really taste the difference. They offer a wide variety of meat and vegetarian options. The Quekas are an absolute highlight—you can't miss them! If you get the chance to dine in, you're in for a delightful experience with excellent service, but be prepared to spend some time soaking it all in. As lovers of indoor plants, we found their large and unique greenery to be captivating and lovely. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Just go!

I ate the steak tacos Mexican way twice. Mmmm mmm!!! Then I had the chicken enchilada with beans and rice. It was not a traditional enchilada I had in the past. It was quite a corn taco folded like a taco with salsa and cheese crushed; but that did not take away from the great taste and presentation. Both experiences were great. Pleasant waitress friendly environment. I'm back.

I have been going here multiple times a week for weeks for lunch! Their steak tacos mexican style are to die for! Rice and beans are always on point and hotter than hell in the summertime! I’m for sure a regular and would recommend the steak tacos and dry/wet steak burritos to anyone!
