Echo Beach Cafe - KALBARRI

Kavaccinos is a fantastic restaurant located in the neighborhood and I absolutely adore it! They always have daily specials that are delicious.

While driving from Edmonton to Calgary the other day, I decided to search for cafes around Lacombe on my GPS.

Way over priced for very average food. Not impressed at all. $43 for an average steak and a few chips. Side salad? That's going to cost you extra too..

While the décor is basic, the service and food is outstanding. Great range of food, reasonably priced. Our chat with Warwick was very interesting and informative!

The restaurant I first went to 37 years ago as an apprentice. The place is still owned by the same family and fronted by Warwick and his brother who is the chef. He is a clearly enthusiastic host and knowledgeable. Most importantly as someone who has coeliacs and a wife who is FODMAP they were eager to accommodate and went significant lengths to cater for us. Food is not 5 star but is certainly very good quality and not at all in any way disappointing for the price. I had the red curry duck and my wife the lamb cutlets both of which were very satisfactory and the chops were brilliant - nice and crispy and not greasy. Also they were not reconstituted chips like you so often get these days. Thoroughly recommended. Note that it is also sometimes called the "Restaurant Upstairs"
