Now under new management - Roasted have the best coffee in Gold Creek which is roasted on the premises. On weekends from Friday night they serve wood fired pizza for lunch & dinner and they're delicious. I prefer a thin crust pizza so the Roasted pizza is exactly how I like it. I highly recommend the periperi chicken and the spuddy but the more mainstream toppings are also nice - Hawaiian etc. If you don't want pizza, they also serve calzone, sandwiches and a good variety of cakes (the carrot is delicious). The new owners are lovely people and the cafe has a new look and ambience.
Deserves the rating it already has (2.9). Food was better than average, breakfasty goodness. Eggs on sourdough toast, easy to get right. Place is nice, good atmosphere. But with places like this service makes the experience, service was average... There wasn't much attention paid to those who already had their food, was hard to order extra bits and pieces ie a second coffee...
Very blustery and freezing day so we requested a table in a room with a fire, which we were given. Unfortunately the room door wouldn't close (it was chocked open) so it wasn't all that warm and we had to ask for an extra log on the fire. From the menu, our choices included French Toast with Bacon and Maple Syrup, Hungarian Goulash with 2 sourdough toast, Lamb Shanks and a Thai Green Curry Pie with salad. All the meals were lovely - the Pie was baked individually (not just a slice), and the Lamb Shanks were in a rich gravy (not swimming in a tomato-based soup). The bacon was lovely and crisp and the Goulash was piping hot. We were there for lunch, and the venue is described as suitable for "all-day grazing" with quite a variety of dishes ranging in price from $15 - $20. We all had coffee/tea, and the coffee was as ordered - very hot. On a nice day it would be suitable for outside dining.
My wife and I had Sunday lunch today. I ordered the Ploughmans Lunch and my wife ordered a pastie with salad.Unfortunately my wife could eat the salad due to its extra garnishing of human hair.We did bring it to the attention of the staff who apologised but did not offer any reparation. The kitchen staff did not wear hair nets. Questionable food safety standards.
