It's got a tiny frontage, but that's because the restaurant is on the first floor. Great food though. Huge menu, with tastes for everyone covered. Also serves a reasonable beverage list, too. Portion sizes are more than adequate and service is prompt with prices (probably due to the nearby competition) being very fair.
Two Sisters is a must-visit restaurant in Dickson, Canberra, offering a blend of Lao and Thai cuisine. The staff is lovely and the service is excellent, making you feel at home right away. The dishes are reasonably priced, and the quality is exceptional. The Larb Beef is an extraordinary dish that perfectly balances spice, tanginess and heat, while the Lao sausage is unbeatable with its unique blend of herbs and spices. The Tom Yum soup bowl is massive and rich in flavor, making it perfect for sharing. For less than $80, you can enjoy a superb dining experience in a beautiful and cozy atmosphere. Two Sisters is definitely worth a visit if you're looking for delicious Lao and Thai cuisine in Canberra.
We made a reservation for the 25th of January. The restaurant was packed. Despite this the service was very attentive, food came out in a timely manner and was delicious.
The atmosphere was lovely, very chill, and the food was absolutely delicious! Can particularly recommend the sausages, they were so good.
In 2018 I left a review for this restaurant. My family visited again yesterday, and unfortunately some of my previous comments still ring true. So here's my 2021 review An okay meal, but nothing more. Service was on the slow side. Popped in here yesterday for dinner. With Covid social distancing, there were fewer tables than last time we visited, which was great. More open space and a more relaxed atmosphere; rather than feeling crushed. We opted to have just mains, so ordering was quick and easy. Our choices were Laksa Crispy Chicken Honey Duck Hokkien Noodles We also ordered 3 drinks, of which only 2 were bought to the table. And my Corona was served without either lemon or lime a crime against Corona! As I said previously, one of my peeves at restaurants is when they bring the food out at staggered intervals, rather than all at once, and this occurred at Two Sisters. My laksa was delivered, then about 10 minutes later 2 more dishes were bought out, and then another 10 minutes passed before the final dish was bought to us. Come on chefs cook so that meals are ready for serving at the same time. Food was okay. Quite generous serves. And tasty enough. Nothing extraordinary, but not poor quality either. I was not impressed by being served warm bottled water. I know the restaurants want us to purchase drinks, but can't you at least give us cold bottled water on the table. Also not impressed by what I observed when a waitress was setting a nearby table. She dropped cutlery items on the floor, but then proceeded to pick them up and place them on the table. C'mon. Everyone knows that's not on. Get clean cutlery! I think yesterday's visit will be the last time we go to this restaurant. The dining scene in Canberra is burgeoning and there are so many better choices available now.
