We book online (open table)and for the past three times our reservations have not been honored, we are either stuck on a bar stool or in the Taverna, neither we appreciated. La Boca was our favorite restaurant for years in Santa Fe, however, the past three times the experience was not worth the price nor enjoyable.
We always enjoy Sundays at La Boca Taberna. Wonderful seeing Nacha Mendez play and the food and wine were superb as always.
I must say that the food at this restaurant was absolutely incredible. However, I have to give it a 3-star review due to the extremely poor service we received. In the middle of our meal, our server disappeared without a trace. We waited and waited for one of our dishes to arrive, but it became clear that our server was nowhere to be found among the other staff in the dining room. Nobody offered an explanation or seemed to care that we were being neglected. We eventually flagged down another staff member, but no one took responsibility for our table. We ended up waiting far too long for our dessert and check. What started out as a fantastic dining experience was ruined by the lack of service and absence of any apologies.
Even though it's a small restaurant, it's very charming and authentic. It felt like I was transported to Spain. We ordered the paella for two and it was delicious, but it was so much that we couldn't finish it. We also had a delicious salad to start and a carafe of sangria, it was a heavenly meal.
