I understand when there's a lot of people but we waited more than 10 minutes for him to pick up our check after he dropped it off.
My husband and I visited this Claim Jumper for the first time in at least a decade. Unfortunately, it was nothing like what we had remembered it to be. First, aesthetically, the restaurant had not undergone any renovations within that decade, so everything literally looked as though it had been frozen in time. That includes the grime and dirty windows and window seals. It would be best not to be seated next to them if you’d like to maintain an appetite. ? We ordered the artichoke dip and chips as an appetizer and that was the first sign that this experience was not going to be like the last time, 10 years prior. The chips were so thin and bland, it’s hard to understand how they could be considered for a dip as thick as artichoke dip. The actual dip tasted of bacon grease and absolutely no other flavor. So that experience was a complete L (loss). Onto the dinner—my husband had a marinated lemon and herb shrimp with a baked potato and Brussels sprouts. While the presentation was actually very appetizing, The sprouts were literally hard as a rock—so much so that I had to show our waitress that we could not even put our fork through it. It seemed as though they were frozen and dropped into a sauté pan and literally blackened on both sides with no regard to actually cooking the inside. Awful. The shrimp were a bit soggy, and the baked potato was, well—like any other baked potato…lol. I opted for the factory burger and fries. Both the burger and fries were over cooked and had absolutely no flavor at all. A complete waste of calories. Last, we ordered the pecan butter cake, which came with a scoop of ice cream on top. To our disappointment the cake was literally cold to the touch, as if it had been brought straight from the freezer to the plate. Despite the coldness, the butter cake was actually fairly good. Not sure if that’s because of how extremely bad everything else was, but I was certainly not terribly disappointed in the taste. It was crunchy on the outside and moist inside. Overall, this restaurant gave me the feeling of being on its last leg. ?
Air conditioning was broken. Server was talking poorly of his manager and company as a whole. Very unprofessional. Salad bar was broken. Refilling of our drinks was almost non existent. Such a bad experience.
System will not let me give less that one star. Went to Claim Jumper, Northridge, on August 18 for dinner with my Aunt. The facility was large, but mostly empty. There seemed to be only one server on the Resturant side. He was almost running to service his table. We ordered and waited for over 45 minutes to receive out dinner. I expect the kitchen was short staff as the servers. My hamburger was cool to the touch and French fries just warm and hard. My Aunt's chicken was hot b ut hard as a rock. For the price I expected better food. We did not send it back as they were already shutting down the resturant. I notice a 3% sure charge on my check and when I questioned it was shown some junk about pricing. The server was doing his best but the resturant was worst than a Denny's I would not go here for the food, maybe the bar is better but I do not drink. In the area is a Black Angus, they seem to be much better, looking of other places to eat as this one is very disappointing.
I used to come here every Friday with my 3 kids for dinner. Good memories. This time, we wanted to get drinks to start, but when I went to the bar, they never even looked at me. So at my table, it took 25 minutes to get watery long island ice teas, in tiny glasses with tins of ice. The food came on a metal tray that made me feel like i was either in high school or prison. Others had plates, it was random. Food was mediocre, our server tried his best to get us our requests. No music playing at all, and the A/C was off or set at 80+. I didn't eat anything except my baked potato. So sad, I brought my friends with because we go out to dinner together every Friday night. We usually have a loud fun time, but we felt like everyone could here our conversation. Not a great time.
