Everything was perfect. Glad I was able to have the experience before their last day. Once you finish a dish you just want more. I hope to try chef ki's food again.
Loved this place! (My boyfriend surprised me with this dinner for my birthday so I could also be biased). Very cute, intimate place with moody lighting (could be bad for photos). I went a week ago but I still think about the crispy octopus. I can see how they pulled Korean elements in each dish which didn't really stand out to me, but nonetheless it was a delicious meal. We also got a bottle of makgeolli which was sweet and very yummy. Valet parking in the back was $10 but you could also just go to madang and buy something for their 2 hour validation. Overall, loved this place and would go back during the different seasons to try out the menus!
In the middle of hustling and bustling ktown is Kinn. The omakase is reasonably priced at $95/person and had a good variety totaling 7 dishes. They rotate the menu quite a bit so we got the decadent autumn menu on a cool November evening. My friends say the summer menu was a bit brighter in the flavor profile to match the weather and appetite. I appreciate that thought process. Overall everything was delicious and the standouts for me are the steamed abalone and the crispy octopus. Definitely left full and happy and ready for food coma.Great wine selection. We brought our own and bought a bottle. Service was warm and fantastic. They kept the pours coming while we chatted the night away. Good for intimate night out or friends gatherings. Typical ktown backlot valet or limited street parking.
Great cozy ambiance, fast service. You watch the chef assemble all the dishes one after the other. Not much wait between each dish. Each dish was assembled beautifully. You can tell they put a lot of love and care into each plate. Variety of items used. Not sure if the dishes were really Korean or more Korean inspired. For the price I guess it's a lot of food, but the dishes were very strong flavor and on the salty side. Ended up drinking so much water during and after the meal. Beautiful presentation but I wish the chef had relied more on umami than salt to flavor each dish.
