Summer Buffalo

Best Thai food ever! The staff is also really helpful. The Pad Thai, crispy egg rolls and Tom Kah soup are my favorites.

Recently discovered this restaurant while looking for good delivery during covid. We have ordered a few times now, and everything is consistently delicious with good size portions. Papaya salad, frogs legs, lamb shank, pork belly, curries and noodles are all delicious. The only thing that was just ok for me was the pad thai which seemed to have a lot less tamarind than other versions I have tried around town. The menu is not very extensive, but what they do is consistently good.

No utensils for a takeout order. Had to drive around just to eat the freakin food. BUYER BEWARE!!!Edit: To be clear my friend and I should've checked for utensils prior to leaving, as the plan was to park and eat by the beach. Plan ruined from assuming utensils were included.

My girlfriend is both a heavy Yelper and a hard-core planner. Every time we go to eat, it 's a military operation. Every single menu item reviewed via photos, every price checked out, all potential spontaneity removed from the equation. Though overall very useful, one day this preparedness was particularly irritating to me (I was hungry) and I wanted to make a point. Walking around Melrose, I mentioned I was hungry, and immediately the phone was out and restaurants nearby already being typed in. This time, though, I stepped in and said NO! This time, we just pop into whatever restaurant looks good. By happenstance, this was Summer Buffalo. We walked in and ordered the Khao Soi, edamame, and a few other items. Came over promptly and was placed in front of us...my reputation on the line. Could I ever pick another restaurant sans Yelp again? Would we be left with a completely planned restaurant life for our remaining days?Then we tasted the food. An absolute symphony of flavor, with each fresh ingredient building on the other in a note-perfect eating experience. The Khao Soi was the crescendo, contrasting the rich tang of the creamy sauce with the delightful crunch of the crispy noodle topping. Bite after bite obliterated both our hunger and any remaining doubt that picking random restaurants can lead to life 's great discoveries on the order of penicillin or coffee. The food was so delicious that we 've returned a dozen times since then. So thank you, Summer Buffalo, for making amazing, delicious food, and for giving me a permanent You Pick the Restaurant card. Five stars. PS: My girlfriend is now my wife, and is pregnant with twins. We are naming them Summer and Buphalo after our favorite restaurant.

LOVE summer Buffalo! I used to live next to their Melrose location and it was my Thai go-to. So so excited to have one near me again! They're flavors are so tasty and interesting, and their food is always delicious. Check out their Yelp reviews for the melrose location for suggestions on what to order.
