That’s what they call ravioli all the pasta has no protein.. really not
One has to admire their search for purity and truth in producing what they believe is exceptional pasta, going so far as to import it directly from Italy daily (showing near fanaticism and darn the sustainability aspect). The ambience is rather industrial however with all that stainless steel and dials, blinking red lights and a modernist-slab-semi-brutalism. The staff also seem a bit like the civil servants in the movie Beetlejuice. No doubt this mad science is admired by some but I found it antithetical to the traditional warmth and humanity that one usually expects with Italian food (the closer to Italian home cooking the better). In fairness, my daughter loved her simple plate of linguini and ground cheeses. And while having enjoyed Italian restaurants elsewhere, for me, the gold standard is Etna in Cleveland’s Little Italy. In comparison, Ouvo is sterile, impersonal and more than a little pretentious. So, although the pasta was decent, I didn’t find it exceptional, unfortunately. But if you wish to try what LA considers haute cuisine and have the bucks, then check it out.
Amazing dining experience! We love every pasta dish, homey yummy. Jea was fun took her time recommending orders according to our preference, will be back with friends again!
Added as one of my go to's for artesian food with mood lighting without the pressure of extreme fine dining. And trust me, you absolutely need to get the tiramisu. Ravioli di Ricotta melts in your mouth. Borgogno is the most fruit forward red wine (I'm not a wine person but loved it). I did lower service down a star because, though the servers may insist to take your time, I was asked one visit if we want more water three times from different servers as a subtle hint to please leave so we can bring in others. It is a little limited in space at this location so I understand it's not the best for people looking to sit and chat after your meal. I would have just preferred if they were straight forward and said they can only accommodate a certain amount of time per customer. They automatically collect 16% gratuity no matter your party size, which can be a plus or minus.
