Skafferiet - Kalmar

We were in the mood for some delicious Greek food, but left feeling disappointed. The Halloumi we ordered as a starter was very dry. My husband tried a typical Greek dish with meatballs in a tomato-based sauce, but he didn't enjoy it. I opted for a Greek Caesar salad, but was unimpressed with the coarse vegetable cuts and bland dressing. The chicken was decent, though.

The restaurant offers a great lunchtime deal which includes a main meal, salad, and a variety of hot and cold drinks. The staff were attentive but gave enough space for a relaxed dining experience. The service was prompt and once explained, I was left to choose my meal. The portion size was generous and very filling, making it unnecessary to eat again for the rest of the day. The price was very reasonable, especially compared to my previous experience of being charged 32 sek for a soft drink. With this meal deal, I paid 82 sek all in. They also offer free wifi, which is perfect for travelers, although it was not working on my first visit. Despite this, the food was delicious and the atmosphere perfect for people-watching. Overall, I will definitely return as the lunch menu may not be the largest, but it has enough variety to satisfy.
