Original Joe's - Kamloops

I had one fantastic experience at this restaurant this year, but also a disappointing one. The atmosphere is great, with sports on TV and vegetarian options available. Unfortunately, during my second visit, my quesadilla arrived with meat despite my request for no meat, and the server had confirmed that she understood my preference. They did remake the dish, but by that time, I couldn’t enjoy my meal with my friends. To make matters worse, we were still charged for half of the quesadilla.

We ordered once more but ended up waiting over 30 minutes. Eventually, I called the waitress and said that if our food wasn’t ready soon, we would like the bill instead. Unfortunately, there was still no bill and no food. I decided to go to the counter to pay for our drinks. Once again, the waitress was very apologetic.

The food is what you would expect from a typical bar. I visited after a long drive and appreciated the laid-back atmosphere and friendly staff. Unfortunately, my chicken burger was a bit bland and had too much sauce. The onion rings were soggy, but the fries were quite tasty. Prices were reasonable, with entrees ranging from $17 to $24. It’s not a terrible choice, but there are definitely better options nearby.

The food at this Original Joe’s came out fast, but not for a lack of quality. I ordered a chicken burger. It’s delicious juices mixed with the freshly breaded chicken breast and fresh toppings made for an exquisite dining experience. The one limiting factor however was the fries, they had somewhat soggy texture to them. Ultimately I would come to this establishment if you are looking for a casual restaurant with good food/environment.

Service was non existent, we didn’t get our drinks until after we were finished our food and the bartender was so unpleasant and rude. Use to be our favourite place, this is the second time we’ve come in the past few months and it’s gone downhill completely. All the waitresses were just standing around talking and barley checked on any of their tables- another good restaurant gone
