Taka Japanese Restaurant - Kamloops

Sushi and Japanese cuisine can differ depending on the location. At times, it is evident that attention and care was put into the preparation, while other times it is clear that shortcuts were taken with subpar ingredients. However, at Taka... you will find sushi that will make you say wow! This restaurant is a rare gem that serves delicious and visually stunning sushi. The staff is hardworking and friendly, and we noticed Uber Eats constantly delivering supplies while we were there. Locals know that Taka... is a top choice for sushi and Japanese cuisine in Kamloops. Enjoy!

Not sure what happened to a new owner? new cook? Service was good, but the food was at best moderate. Not that it was bad, just Bland and not good. The dishes we always order were not prepared in the same way different tastes, different...presentation. Didn't see Mom in the background, so maybe she sold her and went on. We will not return to Taka after our disappointing lunch.

We went to this restaurant for dinner and were seated promptly. However, after ordering our food, the server informed us that they had run out of ramen and replaced it with Udon noodles. She then came back to tell us that they did not have ramen broth and offered to substitute it with another broth. We agreed, but later found out that our prawn tempura could not be served as the kitchen was closed. The food was tasty, but it was disappointing to be seated when half of the menu was not available. It would be a great place to dine if they were more organized.

My family has eaten twice here because this week when we used Kamloops as a disc for 2 trips. Our servers were very friendly and fast with the food. We had a bunch of sushi rolls, Bento boxes and tried the rams. Everything tasted great. The sushi was well presented, the Bento boxes were as expected. I enjoyed the rams very much, but thought that the broth aroma could have been a little deeper. Overall a very good experience.

Stopped in again after a year for lunch. Food was fresh and quick. Had a bento box again which was great!
