Local Boy Sushi - Kaneohe

This restaurant is fantastic! My wife and I were in Waikiki/Honolulu last week and dined at several upscale sushi places, each costing us several hundred dollars. None of them compared to Local Boy Sushi. The menu may be simple, but everything they prepare is exceptional. Even a week later, I can’t stop thinking about the Lava Bowl. If I have the opportunity to return to Oahu, sushi will definitely be at the top of my list!

I have some friends who live on Oahu and have visited several times. In my view, this is the best spot for Poke on the island! The lava bowl is incredible! The spicy tuna paired with sweet unagi sauce is amazing! Plus, the avocado and tempura shrimp add a delicious touch. They definitely offer something unique compared to other poke places on the island. It's a must-try when you're in Kaneohe!

Oh my gosh, you guys, it was incredibly delicious! This is my go-to spot for a quick bite. It's a little hole-in-the-wall place that you really have to see to believe. I always order the LBS Special, which lets you choose a poke and a meat option, and I typically add the shrimp tempura for just a dollar. Plus, the LBS Special comes with a complimentary drink! They serve multi-grain rice, which isn’t my favorite, but it’s fine because it feels healthier to eat. Haha! My top choices are the ahi poke, spicy ahi, and kalua pig. I used to love the kalbi, but since they changed how they serve it, I’ve stopped ordering it—I don’t want to deal with meat on a big bone. Parking can be hit or miss, so my advice is to call in your order a few minutes ahead of time. Local Boy Sushi is truly a hidden gem in Kaneohe!!!

I had the Deluxe Cheeseburger and was as shocked as it was. The best burger for only 4.25. Yeah, it's small, but so full of taste. My husband has the lava roll and it was super good! For the first time I tried the handrolling maki with shrimp empura and it was surprisingly good. The menu is somewhat limited, but so delicious.

Fresh fish and good value for the poke bowl! Definitely the most value compared to other poke shops on Oahu!
