Zippy's - Kaneohe

This is the go to place for Hawaiian fast food! Friendly staff and a bit of wait at this location. Lot of options on the menu and picked just one for quick lunch. Ordered the chicken katsu plate with Mac salad. Mac salad was tasty, the chicken katsu was okay and the sauce was missing the usual katsu curry flavor. This dish was definitely a let down. Hoping to try the other dishes next time!

For my meal, I ordered the Saimin, which was reasonably priced and quite filling! It came with a generous serving of noodles and the hot broth served separately. The fish cake and char siu were tasty additions. Since the portion looked a bit small, I decided to add a chicken katsu. The cashier noted that she made sure to keep it separate to maintain its crispiness. The chicken katsu on its own was around $5-6, but I recommend turning it into a combo meal with rice and mac salad for a better deal. My friend ordered three pieces for $12. We anticipated a heavy, greasy dish, but it surprised us with its lightness and thinness! The accompanying sauce had a tangier flavor compared to other katsu places I’ve tried. By this point, we were craving some vegetables, so I happily finished off the cabbage underneath my meal! Next, we tried the Korean fried chicken, which was delicious! The boneless pieces were not the usual medium-sized chunks, and I appreciated the crunch they delivered. I also ordered the Loco Moco, which was served hot and bursting with flavor—it was actually better than some other versions I’ve tasted. The fried egg on top was cooked just right. I regretted not trying the oxtail soup, but it was on the pricier side. Overall, Zippy's was a satisfying stop that hit the spot before our long boat trip!

The spaghetti and chicken dish is always a great choice, especially when you're unsure of what to order. The Chantilly cake is delicious!

The food was perfect! It was exactly what I was craving, and the location right outside Windward Mall (just across a small road) couldn't have been better. The staff was excellent, and they strictly followed social distancing and COVID-19 guidelines. Overall, it was a clean and safe dining experience!

This was a good restaurant..My last visit ended at the check in. Firstly they were woefully under staffed. They insist you check in electronically even though there's a person standing there to seat you smdh. It is as if they don't want your business. It was for me a decent place to have a meal a little pricey) and consistent. They should change the name because they don't live up to it
